Do They Have The Distance

Earlier today, TCU announced that they will move to the Big East in 2012. It was a huge move. Good in some ways and bad in others. To start on the positive side, the main reason is that they are an automatic qualifying conference. TCU will be moving in all sports, though. It will be a tough road for the basketball team in that dominating conference. Most of the Big East coaches did not want them to join in all sports. That will leave the Big East with 17 teams. Another thing will be that they don't have a supporting fan base that will travel to a lot of games. Also, the distance between schools in the Big East is longer than just trying to fly up to Wyoming or even to drive to New Mexico. We will see how this all plays out when TCU has to take on more tough opponents.

Upset Friday

This Friday could turnout to be the best day of College Football in a long time. I think Oregon will fall to Arizona in a close one. It will be just like the game two years ago with Dennis Dixon. Arizona has had two weeks to prepare for Oregon's Offense. So, if Oregon loses that will leave Auburn in the driver seat. Well, I like the experienced John Mcelroy to take it. The Alabama front line will shut down Fairly. Michael Dyer will not be running well for Auburn. To finish off the night, I think Boise State will beat Nevada by 13. It'll be close but in the end they will start to run away with it.

Here We Go Again

Earlier today, Brad Childress got fired as the Vikings head coach. Leslie Frazier will be interim head coach. He was the Defensive Coordinator for Minnesota. After the 3-7 start, it was definitely time to cut Childress. The Packers got the better of them this season as they have beat them in both of their meetings. I don't think Frazier will be a big contender for the job next year. If I was Frazier, the first thing I would do would be to start Tavaris Jackson.

Weekend Encore

This weekend was very action-packed. On Saturday, Oregon squeaked out a win at CAL. Auburn and South Carolina clinched spots in the SEC Championship. BSU and TCU remained undefeated. On Sunday, the Bears gave the Vikings a not-so-warm welcome to Soldier Field. The Cowboys beat the Giants in the dark. Literally, there was a power failure at the New Meadowlands Stadium. The Jets got their second straight win in OT. The Patriots beat the Steelers on Sunday Night Football. That is your Weekend Encore.

Down in Flames

Earlier today, Wade Phillips got fired! After several losses, he got the boot. Last night, the Packers gave the Cowboys a not-so-warm welcome, as they won 45-7. The Cowboys suffered as Phillips just watched the beat-down that the Packers delivered. Jason Garrett will be in Phillips' spot until they find a suitable coach. Garrett also needs to impress Jerry Jones if he wants to be in the race for the job.

Breeders Cup

In the 2010 Breeders Cup Zenyatta is looking to go 20-0. She will be the first horse ever to go undefeated. Lookin at Lucky will be a contender to. Calvin Borel, the Jockey, got into a fight last night when he was riding a different horse. My picks are:
Win: Paddy O'Prado
Place: Quality Road
Show: Lookin at Lucky
I have Musket Man to come in 4th behind Lookin at Lucky. Zenyatta will come in after Musket Man.

Ending The Drought

Last night the San Fransisco Giants won the World Series! They ended a 56 year drought. The last time they won was 1954, back when they were the New York Giants. Lincecum got the better of Lee, twice. Edgar Reneria was awarded the MVP Award after he had the game winning 3 run home run. Last night will be a day every Giants fan will remember.
