Streak Snapped

What a run! That is all I have to say. Earlier today, UCONN lost to Stanford to end their 90 game win streak. In the process, Stanford extended a 51 home game win streak to 52 games. The final score was 71-59. Before the loss tonight, the last team to beat UCONN was Stanford. Geno Auriemma stated last Spring that if their streak went all the way into January he would retire. There are still questions to be answered. How far will UCONN drop in the polls? Will Geno Auriemma retire? Compare it to any other streak. Favre got injured in half of those 297 games. The only thing that comes close to this streak is the UCLA Men's Basketball streak. This night will go down in history.

Weekend Encore

This weekend all started out when Hawaii got embarrassed in their own stadium by Toledo. On Saturday, the Bulls and Knicks collided at the Garden. A'mare and the Knicks got the win in the end. The Magic and Celtics went down to the wire, but in the end the Magic got a huge boost of confidence. The Heat had to make a statement to show that they can play with the big boys. They did that this weekend as they out hustled the Lakers. In the next game, Kevin Durant greeted the Nuggets by dropping 44. To finish off the day the Warriors defeated the Trail Blazers. On Sunday, the Lions got their 5th win of the season. The Patriots clinched home-field advantage. The Packers demolished the Giants in Green Bay to take control of the NFC Wild Card. The Eagles and Vikings had to postpone their Sunday Night game to Tuesday. Tonight I like the Falcons to beat the defending champs at the Georgia Dome. That is all for this great weekend in sports.

Best Gift of All

Tonight, some teams will have a very nice Christmas, while others will get a big lump of coal. To start out the day, the Bulls face-off with the Knicks. Carlos Boozer will be phenomenal as he will lead the Bulls to a victory. The Celtics will get their 15th straight win as they will beat the Magic handily. The Heat and the Lakers go at it today. I like the experienced Lakers to take it in a close one. The Thunder will take care of business versus the Nuggets with Carmelo out. To wrap up the day, the Warriors will take care of the Trail Blazers.

Thursday, December 23, 2010

Right Now

There is a lot going on in the sports world, but especially in College Football. Earlier today, the NCAA announced that Terrell Pryor and four other Ohio State Buckeyes are suspended for the first five games of next season. Terrell Pryor is guilty of selling some of his awards like the 2009 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl Sportsmanship Award. Also, in the College Football world the Pointsetta Bowl is going to be played at Qualcomm Stadium after the severe floods in Southern California. Navy will take on San Diego State tonight.

Tis' The Season

There are a lot of teams this weekend who can clinch playoff spots. The Jets will lose for the 3rd straight time as they face off at Heinz Field with the Steelers. The Ravens defense will shut down the Saints offense. Chris Ivory is injured for the Saints. The Giants will control the NFC East at the end of the day. They will try to pick on Assante Samuel with Hakeem Nicks. The Jaguars will clinch the AFC South as they head up to Indy. Maurice Jones-Drew will run all over the Colts defense. A lot of questions will be answered today.

Bowl Season

There are 4 more days until College Football Bowl Season begins. It starts out when BYU faces-off with UTEP in the New Mexico Bowl. Right now I am going to give you all the overrated and underrated games this bowl season. An underrated game is when South Carolina and Florida State go at it. The key for South Carolina is that it is at the Georgia Dome, where they just played. Another not talked about game is the AdvoCare 1000 Independence Bowl with Air Force and Georgia Tech. A game that catches my eye is when Russell Wilson and North Carolina State face the West Virginia Mountaineers in the Champs Sports Bowl. These overrated games might surprise you. In the Valero Alamo Bowl Oklahoma State plays Arizona. Kendall Hunter will run over Arizona's defense. Nebraska squares off with Washington in the Holiday Bowl for the second time this year. Washington will not be able to stop Taylor Martinez. The Outback Bowl is a battle of Big Ten and SEC powerhouses who had disappointing years. Penn State will make a statement against Florida. With all the distractions with Urban Meyer, Florida will not be playing their best. Toon in tomorrow for the picks of the 2010-2011 College Football Bowl Season!

Special Teams
K: Alex Henery [NEB] P: Matt Tejadas [ARK] PR: Cliff Harris [ORE]
Tune in tomorrow and you will see what matchups are underrated and overrated.

CFL Now

The College Football world has been busy this weekend. On Saturday, Cam Newton won the 76th Heisman Trophy. Luck was the runner-up and LaMichael James was 3rd. Will Muschamp was named Florida's head coach. He had a very successful career as the Texas defensive coordinator. Al Golden, former Temple head coach, agreed to a deal with Miami. There are still some other coaching jobs out there. Pittsburgh needs a coach after Dave Wanstead resigned.

Let it Snow!

After some very severe blizzards, the Giants were stuck in Kansas City for a night. They postponed the Vikings-Giants game to Monday at 7:20 P.M. at Ford Field in Detroit. The Vikings roof to their Metrodome collapsed last night. Favre announced that if the game was today that he would not have played. I doubt that he will continue his 297 consecutive game streak. The Giants will have a short week to prepare for the Eagles in their biggest game of their season.

Spark of Life

Four teams in the NBA are on winning streaks of five or more games. Those teams are the Mavs, Celtics, Heat, and surprisingly enough, the New York Knickerbockers! Stoudemire has averaged 34.2 points in the last four games. The Mavs look to win their 11th straight. The Celtics go at it with the 76ers tonight. The game that catches my eye is when the Knicks and Celtics face-off. The Heat have won five in a row. This could be the spark that brings the Heat to life. I believe that all of these teams will end up in the Playoffs. Let's see who can extend their streaks.

Breaking News

Earlier today, Urban Meyer resigned as Florida head coach. His final game will be versus Penn State in the Outback Bowl. He has produced so many NFL players. The reason was because he wanted to spend more time with his family. His health is another concern. Dan Mullen and Charlie Strong are in the running for the job.

Monday, December 6, 2010

Weekend Encore

This weekend was thrilling. There were many conference championships. Auburn steam rolled South Carolina 56-17. Oregon overcame Oregon State in Corvallis. All of the 3-8 teams did not have a game. Oklahoma outlasted Nebraska in a battle. Virginia Tech beat Florida State in a shootout 44-33. UCONN clinched the Big East in the last couple of seconds. On Sunday the Bowls were announced. Auburn and Oregon will clash in the title.
A couple of elite College Basketball teams were on display. Duke and Butler faced off at the Meadowlands. Duke took it in the end. Kentucky went on the road to North Carolina but fell short in the end. Georgetown took care of business at home when an underrated Utah State team came to the Verizon Center.
The Steelers came out of Baltimore with a win and Roethlisberger's bloody nose. The Colts continue to struggle. The Bucs and their Creamsicles fell short versus Atlanta. It all leads up to tonight when Brady and Sanchez collide on Monday Night Football.

Thursday, December 2, 2010

World Cup

Today, the World Cup picked the hosts for the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cup. For the 2018 WC Russia won in the voting. Japan and Netherlands were in the mix for that. The country that won the 2022 voting was Quatar! The U.S. lost in the finals to Quatar. The final voting was 14-8. It looks like the U.S. won't be hosting a World Cup in a long time.

Do They Have The Distance

Earlier today, TCU announced that they will move to the Big East in 2012. It was a huge move. Good in some ways and bad in others. To start on the positive side, the main reason is that they are an automatic qualifying conference. TCU will be moving in all sports, though. It will be a tough road for the basketball team in that dominating conference. Most of the Big East coaches did not want them to join in all sports. That will leave the Big East with 17 teams. Another thing will be that they don't have a supporting fan base that will travel to a lot of games. Also, the distance between schools in the Big East is longer than just trying to fly up to Wyoming or even to drive to New Mexico. We will see how this all plays out when TCU has to take on more tough opponents.

Friday, November 26, 2010

Upset Friday

This Friday could turnout to be the best day of College Football in a long time. I think Oregon will fall to Arizona in a close one. It will be just like the game two years ago with Dennis Dixon. Arizona has had two weeks to prepare for Oregon's Offense. So, if Oregon loses that will leave Auburn in the driver seat. Well, I like the experienced John Mcelroy to take it. The Alabama front line will shut down Fairly. Michael Dyer will not be running well for Auburn. To finish off the night, I think Boise State will beat Nevada by 13. It'll be close but in the end they will start to run away with it.

Monday, November 22, 2010

Here We Go Again

Earlier today, Brad Childress got fired as the Vikings head coach. Leslie Frazier will be interim head coach. He was the Defensive Coordinator for Minnesota. After the 3-7 start, it was definitely time to cut Childress. The Packers got the better of them this season as they have beat them in both of their meetings. I don't think Frazier will be a big contender for the job next year. If I was Frazier, the first thing I would do would be to start Tavaris Jackson.

Weekend Encore

This weekend was very action-packed. On Saturday, Oregon squeaked out a win at CAL. Auburn and South Carolina clinched spots in the SEC Championship. BSU and TCU remained undefeated. On Sunday, the Bears gave the Vikings a not-so-warm welcome to Soldier Field. The Cowboys beat the Giants in the dark. Literally, there was a power failure at the New Meadowlands Stadium. The Jets got their second straight win in OT. The Patriots beat the Steelers on Sunday Night Football. That is your Weekend Encore.

Monday, November 8, 2010

Down in Flames

Earlier today, Wade Phillips got fired! After several losses, he got the boot. Last night, the Packers gave the Cowboys a not-so-warm welcome, as they won 45-7. The Cowboys suffered as Phillips just watched the beat-down that the Packers delivered. Jason Garrett will be in Phillips' spot until they find a suitable coach. Garrett also needs to impress Jerry Jones if he wants to be in the race for the job.

Saturday, November 6, 2010

Breeders Cup

In the 2010 Breeders Cup Zenyatta is looking to go 20-0. She will be the first horse ever to go undefeated. Lookin at Lucky will be a contender to. Calvin Borel, the Jockey, got into a fight last night when he was riding a different horse. My picks are:
Win: Paddy O'Prado
Place: Quality Road
Show: Lookin at Lucky
I have Musket Man to come in 4th behind Lookin at Lucky. Zenyatta will come in after Musket Man.

Tuesday, November 2, 2010

Ending The Drought

Last night the San Fransisco Giants won the World Series! They ended a 56 year drought. The last time they won was 1954, back when they were the New York Giants. Lincecum got the better of Lee, twice. Edgar Reneria was awarded the MVP Award after he had the game winning 3 run home run. Last night will be a day every Giants fan will remember.

Thursday, October 21, 2010

Showdown By The Bay

Tonight Roy Halladay and Tim Lincecum go at it in San Fransisco. The Giants are 3-1 in the series with their ace on the mound. In the first matchup Licecum ruled. He will try getting a win tonight and if all goes according to plan he will get the win. I have them taking it 5-2. Posey will do the same as he did last night. The Giants will close out the Phillies as Lincecum will deal.

Wednesday, October 20, 2010

Back To The Lone Star State

The Yankees took Game 5 earlier today. They won 7-2 with Sabathia on the mound. C.J. Wilson got his second straight loss. He is the Rangers number 2 pitcher. The series is back in Texas. I think the Rangers will close out the Yanks. As for tonight's game I have the Giants taking it. Sandoval will be playing 3rd Base. The Giants will take Game 4 and take a 3-1 lead in the series.

Tuesday, October 19, 2010

Tonight I have the Giants winning versus the Phillies in a thriller. Uribe and Posey will be huge. The final score will be 6-5. Posey will continue to show up as he is the front runner for the Rookie of the Year Award. Texas leads New York 2-1 in the series. Lee was dominant last night as they won 8-0. The Yanks will take it tonight 5-3. Check back in tommorrow to see my Game 5 and Game 6 picks.

Monday, October 18, 2010

Hit A Cliff

The Yankees and Rangers series is in New York. Tonight Pettite and Lee face off. It looks like the Yanks have hit a "cliff" with Lee on the mound. Pettite is great in October though. But I have to go with Texas in the long run. Vladimir Guerrero will have a good game. Curtis Granderson will come up huge for the Yankees. In the end I have the Rangers winning 4-1.

BCS Standings

Last night the 1st BCS Standings were revealed. For those of you who did not see the results, here they are:
1. Oklahoma
2. Oregon
3. Boise State
4. Auburn
5. TCU
6. LSU
7. Michigan State
8. Alabama
9. Utah
10. Ohio State
As you can see, Oklahoma jumped teams to get to number 1. Demarco Murray has been outstanding. They have a tough challenge ahead when they play Missouri. Oregon took the number 2 spot. They have amazing speed but the question is their defense. They still have to play USC and Arizona. Boise State keeps their number 3 spot. The bad news is that they are getting jumped each week. Auburn and Cam Newton keep rolling as they scored 63 points versus Arkansas' defense. MSU hopped into the top ten for the first time this season. Alabama and Ohio State round out the rankings with Utah. Those are the first BCS Standings of the year. Tune in later in the week to see my Saturday Picks.

Saturday, October 16, 2010

Envious

Last night the Yankees were down 5-0 going into the 8th. After 1 big inning the Yankees took the lead. They beat the Rangers 6-5 in Texas. I am no Yankees fan, but you have to give them credit. I have the Rangers taking it today in Texas 5-3. In other news, tonight's matchup between the Giants and Phillies will be the best pitching duel you will see in your life. Two of the best pitchers in the whole league face off. I have Lincecum getting the win for the Giants. Halladay and the Phillies will fall short.

Saturday Picks

Today the first part of games were not that good, but the second part is a different story. In the Michigan versus Iowa game I have Robinson taking care of business. He'll make up for the loss last week. I also Nebraska to take it from Texas in a rematch from last years Big 12 Title Game. Auburn will sneak out alive versus Arkansas. Cam Newton will have a huge game with Michael Dyer. Last week my upset alert came true; South Carolina over Alabama. This week it is Ohio State's turn to get upset. I mean it is in Camp Randell and Wisconsin's backs will be roaring. Those are my picks for the weeks.

Saturday, October 9, 2010

Upset Saturday

Today there will be unexpected upsets. I have SC going on the road and given Stanford their 2nd straight loss. I also have Florida State over Miami 24-20. Clemson will beat UNC 34-17. Arizona will rough up Oregon State 27-13. Michigan St. will prove that they are an elite team as they will win 23-17. In the big game I have South Carolina to knock off Alabama 24-23 in the game of the week.

Wednesday, October 6, 2010

October

The MLB Playoffs start today. I have the Yankees losing to the Twins 4-2. They have not won a game versus a LH Pitcher this season. I also have the Phillies taken care of business at home. The Braves will come into San Fransisco and take Game 1. For the best series of them all I have the Rays over the Rangers 6-5.

Sunday, October 3, 2010

Week 4

Today's games have have big implications. The Giants will give the Bears their first loss. The Steelers will lose to the Ravens 20-16. The Chargers will win at home versus the Cardinals. On Monday Night Football the Dolphins will beat up on the Patriots.

Saturday, October 2, 2010

Saturday Slate

Today is the biggest week in College Football in the regular season. Rivalry's will be renewed. Teams strike revenge. I have Andrew Luck and Stanford beating the Oregon offense 34-31. I also have Iowa knocking Penn State out of the Top 25. In the Air Force vs. Navy game I have Air Force winning 20-16. I have Michigan State to upset Wisconsin in a huge battle. In the Alabama Florida game I have the Gators losing 24-20 in a close game. Florida will come out firing, but fall short. In the game of the day I have the Oklahoma Sooners to beat Mac Brown's Longhorns in the Red River Rivalry 17-13. Let me give a shoutout to the Fordham Prep Rams. They are 4-0 going into their biggest game of the season versus Holy Cross.

Saturday, September 25, 2010

Today there were upsets and survivors. Texas lost 34-12 to UCLA in there home state. Alabama won 24-20 after Mallet threw 3 picks. In tonights games I have Auburn to win 31-24. Oregon State will upset Boise State, in Boise, on the blue turf, and they will win 26-20.

Sunday, September 19, 2010

Power Week

Today the matchups heat up. In the Patriots Jets matchup I have the Jets 20-13. I like the Ravens to beat the Bengals 24-10. I also like the Detroit Lions to beat the Eagles 27-23. In the Brother Bowl I like little brother to win 27-17. The Giants will run it all day. The Colts defense will lose them the game. Those are my picks this week.

Saturday, September 18, 2010

Week 3

Today the games are not as good as they were last week. I have USC to beat Minnesota 38-14. In the upset of the day I have Air Force over Oklahoma. I also have Michigan St. to beat Notre Dame 27-20. Arizona will upset Iowa in OT 31-28. Texas will come out of Red Raider nation with a win. In the game of the day I like Auburn over Clemson. Cam Newton will be huge. Those are my picks for the day.

Sunday, September 12, 2010

Gametime

Today there are some interesting matchups to start off the season. I have the Giants over the Panthers 24-14 in the new stadium. I will attend that game. I also have the Texans beating the Colts 30-27. Andre Johnson will be huge. The Pats will fall short of the Bengals. Palmer will have a big day. I have the Packers beating the Eagles 28-24 in a close one. I also like the Redskins over the Cowboys 24-20. Tommorrow I have the Ravens beating the Jets 17-13. The Chargers will ram through the Chiefs 30-10. So far I am 1-0 with my picks after the Saints beat the Vikings on Thursday.

Saturday, September 11, 2010

Monster Saturday

There are huge games today. I am 7-1 with my picks and I am going to bounce back from the VA Tech loss. Watch out for USF to upset Florida. I got them over Florida 24-20. I also like Oklahoma over Florida State 31-21. I like Michigan going into South Bend and taking it from the Irish. The Georgia Bulldogs take on the South Carolina Gamecocks. I got UGA 17-13 in a thriller. Miami and Ohio State face off in Columbus. I got Miami 30-27 in 2OT. For the game of the week I got Alabama over Penn State 17-10 in a low scoring game.

Thursday, September 9, 2010

Payback?

Tonight the Saints face off with the Vikings. It is payback for the Vikings as Brett Favre returns. The playmakers will be Marcus Colston and Visanthe Shiancoe. Brees will lead the "Who Dat" cheer at the start of the game. In the end I have the Saints 27-17.

Saturday, September 4, 2010

After going 5-0 in my first start, I am going to continue my streak. I have TCU to beat Oregon State in the Cowboys Classic at Cowboys Stadium. I would have Oregon State if it was at home for them, but TCU has the crowd. I also have LSU to beat UNC 21-14. On Monday night I have Virginia Tech to beat Boise State 29-23 in the Capital. I just want to give a shout to Jacksonville State! They came back from 21 points to beat Ole Miss in 2OT in Ole Miss' backyard. They scored a touchdown on 4th and 15 in 2OT!

Thursday, September 2, 2010

CFL BABY!

College Football is here! To start out the season Southern Miss plays South Carolina. I have South Carolina on top 20-17. USC is at Hawaii at 11:00. I have SC 34-10. Kiffin starts his new era at SC. Marshall faces off with Ohio State. I have OSU winning in a close game 27-23. I also have Miami beating FAMU 38-14. I also have Pitt losing to Utah 24-13. I will be back on Saturday to give you some more picks.

Monday, August 30, 2010

Little Man

Japan is the 2010 LLWS Champions. They beat Hawaii 4-1 in the Finals. They won the whole thing with 6th inning rallies and pitching. They beat Mexico to start off, then beat Puerto Rico, Mexico again, Chinese Taipei in 7 innings, and to end it, they defeated Hawaii to get the title. Japan has 7 Little League World Series titles. Only America and Chinese Taipei have more. Japan comes out on top in the 2010 Little League World Series.

Sunday, August 29, 2010

Revenge

Japan and Hawaii face off in the Little League World Series. It could be revenge for Hawaii after Japan bombed them in World War 2. Japan upset Chinese Taipei yesterday as Hawaii beat Texas 10-0 F5. Ty DeSa will be huge as Hawaii will win 6-3. Hawaii will try to win their 3rd title in 6 years.

Thursday, August 26, 2010

HI, West v.s GA, Southeast

Georgia and Hawaii face off in the Pool A Finals. Hawaii is from the Losers Bracket and Georgia is from the Winners. Georgia beat Hawaii to start it off. Yesterday, Hawaii got back at them and won 7-4. Winner moves on. Loser packs their bags. I have Georgia winning 6-4 in a close matchup. Jacob Pate is on the mound for Georgia. He is their ace. Texas awaits the winner of tomorrow's game.

MLB Now

In the AL Wild Card it is clear that the Rays or Yankees will win it. The closest team is the Red Sox, who are 5 games back. In the NL it is a different story. The Giants lead the NL Wild Card by half a game over Philly. St. Louis is 1 game back. The Dodgers and Rockies are making a move. Colorado is 4 games back and LA is 5. But meanwhile, they are 11 and 10 games back in the NL West. The Padres are the best in the NL. Watch out for the Rockies and Dodgers heading into September.

Tuesday, August 24, 2010

Japan v.s Mexico

Japan and Mexico face-off in the Pool C Finals. Japan won the last meeting 4-2 with a three run home run in the 6th. Mexico just beat Puerto Rico and Germany. Mexico has good pitching and nice hitting. They make you make errors, like they did versus Puerto Rico. Japan has such smart and risky base running. They get in a rundown but get out of it with an extra base. I have Mexico winning 5-4, though.

Monday, August 23, 2010

LLWS

I will be doing a Little League special for the next week. I will tell you who will be a dark horse, the favorite, and the sleeper team in the Little League World Series. Stay tuned for this next week because all give you the best information around. This will be one of the best LLWS in the last 50 years.

LAX Title

Congrats to the Chesapeke Bayhawks for beating the Long Island Lizards in the MLL Title. The Bayhawks have switched locations to get more fans and it finally worked out. In the MLL there are only 6 teams. Chesapeke was the 5th best team last year. Matt Danowski, son of Jack Danowski, [Duke Coach] failed to take the title. The Bayhawks take home the trophy, this year.

Right Now

If you want to know what is going on right now this is the place. Brett Favre claims that him and Childress have a great relationship and that it was not the reason he hesitated to come back. Around the Horn and AOL Fanhouse analyst, Jay Mariotti, was arrested for a domestic incident. The Little League World Series has started. Minnesota, Germany, Saudi Arabia, and New Jersey are all out of the tourney. The Chesapeke Bayhawks beat the Long Island Lizards in the Major Lacrosse League Championship.

Wild Card

The Wild Card race is heating up. In the AL it is either the Yankees or Rays, whoever loses the division. In the NL it is different. The Giants, Phillies, and Reds are tied for 1st. The Rockies are 5 games and the Dodgers are 5 and a half games behind the leaders. But Colorado lost to the Mets earlier, so they might be 6 games behind, by the end of the day. The Dodgers and Phillies are in their rubber game of the series. I have the Dodgers winning 5-2. It is time to make your move, go on a win streak, or have a spark of life in the race for the division or the Wild Card.

CFL Review

College Football is almost here! Tennessee starts a new era with Derek Dooley. SC is going into this season knowing that they are not ranked and can't play in a bowl. Bama is ranked number 1, Ohio State is 2, Florida 3, Texas 4, and Boise State 5. My Heisman candidates are Jake Locker, Mark Ingram, and Kase Keenum.

Mr. 600

Finally. A Rod hit his 600th home run off of Shaun Marcum! Jeter scored as well. A Rod is now a member of the 600 club. Is he one of the best players in the game, ever? No. But these last two years have been big for him. He won the World Series and now he hit No. 600.

Retirement?

Here we go again. Brett Favre say that he will retire. It is not a done deal, though. If he does retire I still think the Vikings will make the Wild Card. The Packers will win the division and the Bears will fall short. The running game will have to step up. The receiving will have to be like it was last year.

Heating Up

The MLB is heating up now. The Dodgers are 7 games back in the NL West. They are chasing the Padres. The Giants remain in second as they play the Dodgers on Sunday Night baseball. A-Rod is still at 599. The Rays are two games behind the Yankees as they are in the rubber game of the series. The Reds are tied in 1st with the Cardinals. The Dodgers sent Blake Dewitt and acquired Ted Lilly and Ryan Theriot from the Cubs. Adam Dunn was not traded. The MLB is getting good as they head into August.

Violations

The NCAA is out to get all the good athletic programs. It all started off with the USC scandal, and today they made USC give back the copy of Reggie Bush's Heisman. Now Alabama and Florida are on the edge of their seats. I mean if the NCAA keeps on going after these teams and putting them on probation it will not be fun to watch College Football knowing that these games don't count.

Dodger Trouble

The Dodgers are having major troubles. They have lost 6 games in a row and their hitting and pitching has gone down. Last night their troubles continued. To start off Lincecum had 3 wild pitches, and one hit Matt Kemp. Then Batista hit Russel Martin. Clayton Kershaw retaliated. He got thrown out of the game with Joe Torre. Then, in the 9th inning the bases were loaded for the Giants. Don Mattingly went to the moung to talk with Broxton and the infield. James Loney did not hear something so Mattingly came back to the mound but that is not allowed for a coach to come back to the 18 foot rubber. So the Dodgers lost 7-5 in the 9th.

MLB Now

Today was a big day in sports. David Ortiz won the Home Run Derby last night. Earlier today George Steinbrenner died of a heart attack! He was 80 and lived in Tampa Bay. He said the two most important things in life were breathing and winning. Later today is the All Star Game. I have the NL winning and stopping the drought. They have lost 7 years in a row. I think Ubaldo Jimenez will take it over David Price 3-1. The NL will get home field advantage in the World Series if they win. The MVP will be Rafael Furcal of the LA Dodgers.

Monday, July 12, 2010

Home Run King

Tonight is the Home Run Derby. It will be held in Anaheim where the whole All Star Weekend is held. I have Miguel Cabrera beating Matt Holiday in the finals. Cabrera will be knocking balls way out of the park. Ortiz will fall in the second round. This is probably one of the most exciting parts of the All Star Week every year. Cabrera will be the Home Run King tonight.

Sunday, July 11, 2010

WC Finals

Today at 1:30 it is the World Cup Finals! Spain and Netherlands face off in what is supposed to be a great battle. Neither country has won a title. Germany and Uruguay played for 3rd place yesterday. Germany won for the second straight year. The score was 3-2. Klose failed to score a goal, so he ended his career tied for secong with most WC goals. Today I have the Netherlands beating Spain and taking home the title.

Big Three

There is a new 'Big Three' in the NBA. LeBron James is on the Miami Heat! He'll be with Bosh and Wade. The thing is: It's Wade's team and nothing can take that away from him. He's won a title all by himself. My first thought when James picked Miami was, 'poor Cleveland.' Some say the Heat will definitely win the title. I don't see that. It will take one year for the Heat to adjust with all of the stars. The two teams who are the losers of the free agency are the Cavs and Nets. The Heat were clearly the winners of the Summer of 2010.

Countdown

There are 4 hours until LeBron makes his decision! The word on the street is that he will go to Miami with Bosh and Wade. The Knicks are coming closer to LeBron every minute. The Cavs are still holding on, but it is unlikely that they will get him. I, have LeBron going to the... New York Knicks! They might get Carmelo and Tony Parker next year. LeBron just bought a house in Greenwich. The reason they are having the press conference in Greenwich is because James is down at Carmelo Anthony's wedding in Greenwich. I guess will have to wait until 9:00 tonight to find out where LeBron James is going.

Wednesday, July 7, 2010

Free Agency Frenzy

There has been a lot of talk about all the different free agents. To start off with the big news, LeBron, is holding a 1 hour Sportscenter Special tomorrow at 9:00. He will decide where he will go. It will be in Greenwich, CT. I think he'll stay in Cleveland but why does he have the Press Conference in Connecticut? That is a definite sign that he might go to the Knicks. In other news, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh are going to the Heat! They said today that they are willing to do a sign and trade with the Heat. Earlier today, Kevin Durant got a 5 year extension. He is like my favorite player in the league. He is an amazing player, doesn't need to be in a big city, and he is committed to the Thunder. The Bulls got Carlos Boozer earlier today, too. There are still lots of questions to be answered in this Summer of 2010.

Soccer Semifinals

In the Semifinals of the World Cup the picks, for me, are easy. I have Germany beating Spain 3-1. I think Klose will beat Ronaldinho's WC Goal Record. Klose has 14 and Ronaldinho had 15. I also have Netherlands beating Uruguay 2-1. Netherlands and Germany will face in the title.

Thursday, July 1, 2010

Round of 8

In the World Cup's Round of 8 there are interesting matches. First I have Argentina beating Germany 2-1. Then Paraguay will beat Spain 2-0. I also have Ghana beating Uruguay 4-2 in a high scoring match. Then, for the upset of the day, I have the Dutch beating Brazil 2-1 in extra time. It will be an exciting round in the World Cup.

Wimbledon

Wimbledon this year has been exciting. To start it off Federer was tested to the limit, but came out and won. Later on the queen came to visit Wimbledon. That is when it happened. There was an 11:05 tennis match. John Isner beat Nicholas Mahut 3 sets to 2 but in the last set it was 70-68! The next day Isner lost and basically was too tired to care. Then in the Quarters, Roger Federer lost to Tomas Berdych in 4 sets. Venus Williams also lost before Federer. In the semifinals Novak Djokovic plays Tomas Berdych. I like Berdych in 4 sets. Nadal and Murray also face-off. I have Murray in 5 sets. Nadal will never be the same after he had that injury.

Saturday, June 26, 2010

Knockout Stage

In the World Cup's Knockout Stage there are good matches. Later today Ghana faces America. I have the U.S. winning 2-1. Jozy Altidore and Hercules Gomez will have a goal. It will be an exciting game. Tomorrow England plays Germany. I have England winning 1-0 over Germany. Chile and Brazil will also face-off. I have Brazil winning 4-1. They are just too explosive. In the biggest match of the Cup I have Portugal beating Spain 3-2. It will be huge. Ronaldo will have a goal and have South Africa rocking.

Friday, June 25, 2010

Streak

Tonight the Dodgers play the Yankees for the first time in six years! It is in LA. It's weird how Torre has never visit the new Yankee Stadium. The Dodgers are on a losing streak. It has been about 7 games since they won. The Yankees are doing well, though. I have my Dodgers winning 4-2. Manny will have a good game and go 2-4. Texeira will do well throughout the series. In the end Kemp will be huge. All the stars will be out tonight watching the Dodgers and Yankees.

Thursday, June 24, 2010

Going On

There were a lot of things going on in this two day stretch. First the U.S. beat Algeria 1-0 after Donovan scored a goal in stoppage time. There also was an 11:05 tennis match. John Isner won in 5 sets v.s. Nicholas Mahut. The last set was 70-68! Today was the NBA Draft. John Wall got picked first, Evan Turner 2nd, Derrick Favors 3rd, Wesley Johnson 4th, and Demarcus Cousains 5th. Greg Monroe got picked 7th and went to the Pistons. Patrick Patterson got picked 14th. He was the first senior to get picked.

Win and You're In

Earlier today, Uruguay beat Mexico 1-0. Uruguay won Group A. South Africa beat France. Mexico and RSA both had 4 points but Mexico won the goal differential. South Africa is the first team to lose in group play when hosting the World Cup. At least they ended on a good note. Tomorrow the U.S. and Algeria play. I have the U.S. winning 2-0. That will give them 5 points. I have England beating Slovenia 2-1. The U.S. and England will move on. America will win the group over England because the goal differential.

LA vs Boston

There has been a couple of series with the Boston and LA teams this week. And I was wondering which city is better in sports. The Lakers have 15 Titles but the Celtics have 18.
BOSTON 1 LA 0
LA has the edge with colleges. USC and UCLA take it with Water Polo and Football. Hockey goes to Boston but LA still has basketball, baseball, softball, and cross country.
BOSTON 1 LA 1
For the winning point... better players. LA has Kobe, Jabar, Magic, Jackie Robinson, Reggie Jackson, and Chamberlan. Boston has Bird, Russell, Garnett, Pierce, Allen, and Brady. I have to go with LA. The colleges are the game changer. I mean you have the titles and they produce players.
BOSTON 1 LA 2

Thursday, June 17, 2010

Winner Takes All

Tonight is game 7 of the NBA Finals. Winner takes all. Gasol will have to be a playmaker. Allen will be hot from 3 point land. Kendrick Perkins has a knee injury so he won't be 100%. Garnett and Artest will both have big games. In the end I have the Celtics winning it 95-93. It is for all the marbles, the whole enchilada!

Tuesday, June 15, 2010

All the Marbles

Tonight the Celtics visit L.A. Analysis have been talking about which position you'd rather be in: The Lakers down 2-3 but at home or the Celtics away and up 3-2. I would rather be in the Celtics positon where you know if you lose you have another game. I have the Lakers winning Game 6 103-97. Kobe will do it all. In Game 7 [if there is one] I have the Celtics taking the trophy back to Boston. They will take it 93-91. Let's see if the Lakers can be the 3rd team to win back-to-back games at home while down 2-3 in a 2-3-2 series.

Sunday, June 13, 2010

World Cup

The World Cup so far has had some thrills. South Africa and Mexico tied 1-1 to start it out but RSA scored the first ever World Cup goal in Africa. Uruguay and France tied 0-0. Argentina and South Korea both won. The U.S. and England tied 1-1 because Robert Green dropped a save. The sad thing is that he might get death threats. That is how seriously they take soccer. I think I will pray for him. No joke. Ghana, Slovenia, and Germany also won. The only team who scored a lot was Germany. We have not got to the offensive teams like Spain, Brazil, and Ivory Coast.

Going Back to L.A.

Tonight is Game 5 of the NBA Finals. I have the Celtics winning 106-104. Pierce will play well and Perkins will have 20+ points. Bynum will have a big game but will come up short. Let me just say, the Celtics and Lakers players wre wrong; It is going back to L.A.

Thursday, June 10, 2010

Right Now

Last night the Chicago Blackhawks won the 2010 Stanley Cup! They beat the Flyers 4-3 in OT. Patrick Kane had the game-winning goal in OT. The Flyers had so much momentum. Toews won MVP for the whole entire postseason. In other news, USC got a 2 year postseason ban! I mean they are punishing kids who had nothing to do with it. So now will have to wait 2 years until the Bowl Season gets good.

Wednesday, June 9, 2010

Big Move

Today there was a big move in College sports. Nebraska moved to the Big Ten! It was all about revenue. Nebraska will now more likely be a power house in the Big Ten. The Big 12 is falling apart. Texas, Texas Tech, Texas A+M, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma St. will probably go to the PAC 10. Colorado will either go to the Mountain West or PAC 10. Missouri will probably go to the Big 10.

MY TROJANS!

Today the NCAA announced that they will have a meeting to discuss the USC allegations. I'm talking about the allegations with Reggie Bush in 2005. You might have read a little bit about this in the article Title Taken. Things are not looking good for MY TROJANS! I think it is a little bit annoying that Pete Carrol just left right when things got rough. I mean, I thought a lesson they tell you in football is never to back down from a challenge. Tomorrow it is all on the line for MY TROJANS!

Tuesday, June 8, 2010

All on the Line

Tonight I have the Blackhawks beating the Flyers 3-1 in Philly. Toews will have 2 goals and Versteeg will have 1. It is all on the line tonight. I also have the Celtics winning tonight in Boston 101-99. Just to let you know Steven Strasburg has a lead in his debut. No player has gotten a hit on hime yet as the Nationals are winning 1-0.

Sunday, June 6, 2010

Big Night

Tonight is a big night in sports. First I have the Blackhawks to win 4-1 versus the Flyers in Chicago. Toews and Hossa will have a big night. I also have the Celtics winning 98-93. Bynum will have 20+ points and Garnett will have about 25-30 points. Congrats to Rafael Nadal for beating Soderling in the French Open Finals.

Saturday, June 5, 2010

Belmont

Tonight is the Belmont Stakes. I have Uptown Charlie Brown to Win after his trainer died. He is carrying a lot on his back. I have Ice Box to Show and Spangld Star to Place. The Belmont was not talked about this year if you ask me. They had to change times of events in New York for the Belmont traffic.

Thursday, June 3, 2010

Renew The Rivalry

Tonight is Game 1 of the Celtics-Lakers series. This will be the eleventh time the Lakers and Celtics have played in the title. They have combined for 32 NBA Titles. That is more than half of the Championships. I have the Celtics winning in 6 games. Game 1 will go to Boston as Allen will have 20+ points. The Celtics will take it 96-93.

Wednesday, June 2, 2010

Ice Time

Tonight the Blackhawks and Flyers will play on the ice in Philly. After going 1-1 this weekend I have the Flyers winning tonight 4-2. The Blackhawks will still be leading the series, though. Leighton will come up big. Toews and Kane will have a goal. Philly will be roaring tonight.

Monday, May 31, 2010

Lacrosse Title

At 3:30 today Duke will play Notre Dame in the NCAA Division 1 Lacrosse Finals. I have Duke crushing Notre Dame's dreams of winning a title. Ned Crotty will have 3 goals as Duke will win 8-6. Hopefully, it will be as exciting as last years finals when Cornell and Syracuse battled. 'Cuse won in OT. The Blue Devils are having a great 2010 in sports after Duke winning the NCAA Basketball Tournament.

Friday, May 28, 2010

Memorial Day Weekend

This Memorial Day Weekend is packed. Not because the beach clubs opening and barbecues. I'm talking about the basketball, hockey, lacrosse, and a little tennis! I have the Magic beating the Celtics twice to get to the finals. The Suns will bounce back and beat the Lakers 109-101. The Blackhawks will win Game 1 3-1. Game 2 will go to the Flyers. The Cornell Bears will beat Notre Dame 7-3 in lax and Duke will upset Virginia. Cornell will beat Duke 9-8 in the Finals on Monday. Nadal will get knocked out and Federer will move on. Have a great weekend!

Wednesday, May 26, 2010

Hold

Tonight the Magic host the Celtics. The Magic were 0-2 at home in their 1st two games at home. The Celtics hope to hold the series. The Magic will make sparks flt tonight and win 100-97. Vince Carter will have 20+ points. Pierce will have a big game but come up short.

Thursday, May 20, 2010

Title Taken?

Know how USC allegedly paid Reggie Bush to come to the school? Well, now the NCAA might strip SC of their title in 2004! I was watching College Football Live and they were talking about if they get stripped they would give the National Title to a different team. They were saying Auburn should get it with their great halfbacks and "King Campbell." And of course the SEC with their great sportsmanship after eye gouging, robbing a convenience store, and taking drugs would throw a party that a new team had won a title. I mean if USC and Auburn played against each other that year USC would crush. I am also going to do a shout out to Rob Gilmore because he knows what he is talking about.

Tuesday, May 18, 2010

Packed Playoffs

Tonight there are some wicked games. First I have the Magic beating the Celtics 103-101. But before that they are having the NBA Draft Lottery. I have the Timberwolves getting the first pick followed by the Nets and Warriors. The Blackhawks will roll through the Sharks and the Canadians will outplay the Flyers in OT. Tomorrow the Suns will stay alive in their series and win 111-107.

Sunday, May 16, 2010

Two Day Stretch

The next two days will be action packed so I'll give you both my predictions of each night now. I have the Magic beating the Celtics. The Flyers will beat the Canadians. The Blackhawks will defeat the Sharks 5-2. The Suns will come up big versus the Lakers and will win 108-99.

Saturday, May 15, 2010

LAX Tourney

Yesterday was the start of the 2010 NCAA Division 1 Lacrosse Tournament. There were some thrills and blowouts. Virginia beat Mt. St. Mary's 18-4 in prime time. Stony Brook beat Denver 9-7. Duke demolished JOHN HOPKINS 18-5. Maryland charged past Hofstra and won 11-8. Cornell beat Loyola [MD] 11-10 in 3/OT! Later today Army and Syracuse battle. I have Army 12-10. Princeton will ram through Notre Dame. You will get to see a lacrosse star today in Billy Bitter [North Carolina Attack] as he plays Delaware. I have UNC winning 15-9. You can see these games on ESPN2 or ESPNU.

'

Preakness

For the Preakness tonight I have Lookin at Lucky to Show, Dublin to Place, and Super Saver to Win. Calvin Borel has won the Kentucky Derby 3 times out of 4 years. He said that he was going to win the Triple Crown. Todd Pletcher is hoping that just maybe they can go the distance.

Flying High

For all you Flyers fans out there, the Flyers were the fourth team ever to come back and win from being down 3-0 in a 7 game series. The Bruins just let go of the series. Last night the Flyers were down 3-0 and came back to win in Boston! The Flyers and Canadiens will face off and the Blackhawks and Sharks will play. The Canadiens have won the Stanley Cup 24 times. I have the Flyers and Blackhawks facing off in the Title, though.

Bye-Bye Brown

Yesterday, Cavaliers coach Mike Brown got fired. He was the 2009 Coach of the Year. He spent 5 years with the Cavs. He made it to the 2007 NBA Finals and lost to the Spurs. The Cavs will have to look for another coach. It looks like things are finally starting to fall apart for the Cavs.

Thursday, May 13, 2010

Do or Die

Tonight the Celtics face off versus the Cavs. After the Cavs got embarrassed in Game 5 they look for revenge. I predict the Cavs will lose 94-89. Shaq and Jamison have not been playing well. Who knows what's up with Williams? Lebron is going to another team if he loses this. So Cleveland will more likely have to wait until another star shows up.

Wednesday, May 12, 2010

Right Now

Earlier today Brian Cushing won Defense Rookie of the Year after a revote. They revoted after Cushing won it earlier but tested positive for a NFL banned substance. Notre Dame, Missouri, Nebraska, and Rutgers might move to the Big 10. The Tigers beat the Yankees 2-0 in Game 1 of their double-header. That is what's happening right now.

Wednesday, May 5, 2010

30 For 30

If you've seen ESPN's 30 for 30 you might want to see what I think about it. I am not a movie critic but my dad is. Hopefully some of his jeans will rub off on me. Last night I did not watch the 16th Man but I watched Guru of Go. Know the movie Invictus? Well, it is based on the 16th Man. Guru of Go is about Hank Gathers. It showed about his life in Philadelphia with no dad for the 1st part. He grew up with his brother, Mom, and grandma. His school won the City Championship. He was dunking by high school. Bo Kimble and Hank decided to go to USC. Whenever the reporters asked Hank why he was going to USC, he said: "For the fun in the sun." Things did not go well, though. Coach Ravelin kept on calling Hank, Bo. They switched to Loyola Marymount. Coach Westhead had the fastest offense on earth. They said that the other teams players mouths were dry that they could not speak. My mouth was dry from watching them. They still hold the record for the best point average in College Basketball ever. When they played Portland something horrible happened. I give this movie a 3+ stars. You should watch ESPN's 30 for 30. [+ means a half.]

Saturday, May 1, 2010

Big Weekend

This year it seemed the Kentucky Derby was forgotten. I have Super Saver to win, Lookin at Lucky to place, and Awesome Act to show. Super Saver's odds are 15/1. Lookin at Lucky's are 3/1, and Awesome Act's are 10/1. Sidney's Candy's are 5/1 and Dublin's are 12/1.
For basketball I have the Celtics winning game 1. The Lakers will beat the Jazz after crushing OKC's hearts. Next year you'll get them back Thunder. I also have the Bucks beating the Hawks. The Spurs will beat the Suns.

Thursday, April 29, 2010

Keep Rocking

The Lakers and Thunder face off tommorrow tnight. I have the Thunder winning 109-101. The Lakers will not keep rocking. The Spurs will put away the Mavericks. The Nuggets will keep rocking and beat the Jazz to tie the series up. The Hawks will extinguish the Bucks in a thriller on Friday. The Blazers will beat the Suns 99-89.

Tuesday, April 27, 2010

Pressure Time

For my picks I have to go with my gut. So I am picking the Thunder over Lakers. The Cavs will take it from Chicago. I usually love to pick the underdog but not today. The Hawks will beat Bucks. The Nuggets will defeat the Jazz. The Mavericks will not go down without a fight and will beat the Spurs. Then the Heat will be roaring and will beat the Celtics.

Friday, April 23, 2010

Playoffs

After going 6-1 yesterday in hockey and basketball picks I am ready to continue my streak. I have the Nuggets 109-102 over the Jazz. The Heat will beat the Celtics 99-95. The Spurs will beat the Mavs 97-89. The Sabres will beat the Bruins 3-1. I got the Coyotes over Red Wings. The Canadiens will beat the Capitals 2-1. The Canucks will lose to the Kings 4-2.

Thursday, April 22, 2010

Draft [Part 2]

For the Draft the Giants got Jason Pierre-Paul. Tebow went to the Broncos! Clausen and McCoy did not get picked. Demaryius Thomas went to the Broncos. Dez Bryant stays down south. He is a member of the Dallas Cowboys. Earl Thomas went to the Seahawks. Maurkice Pouncey ended up in Pitt. Charles Brown, Everson Griffin, and Taylor Mays have not got picked.

Draft [Part 1]

So far in the draft Bradford got picked first, Suh went 2nd, and McCoy went third. Not surprising. Trent Williams and Eric Berry got picked 4th and 5th. The best pick of the night was Rolando Mclain. He was the 8th picked. The surprising thing is that the RAIDERS picked him! San Fransisco and Denver traded for the eleventh pick. We are on the 13th pick now. And that is the Eagles. And they pick- Brandon Graham a DE from Michigan!

Action Packed

Today is action packed. The draft starts tonight. My 5 top picks are:
1. Rams- Sam Bradford College: Oklahoma
2. Lions- Ndamukung Suh College: Nebraska
3. Buccaneers- Russel Okung College: Oklahoma State
4. Redskins- Gerald McCoy College: Oklahoma
5.Chiefs- Eric Berry College: Tennessee
Most Underrated: Rolando Mclain Most Overrated: Jimmy Clausen

My NBA Playoff picks are: Trail Blazers over Suns, Bulls over Cavaliers, and Thunder over Lakers. My NHL Playoff predictions are: Senators over Penguins, Flyers over Devils, Chicago over Nashville, and Sharks over Avalanche.

Saturday, April 17, 2010

We'll Miss You

Earlier today Greg Monroe announced that he is leaving Georgetown. It is a done deal. Georgetown is luckily getting 4 more recruits. I am going to tell you what Greg Monroe is good and bad at.
Good at: His ability to move down the court.
Bad at: Monroe does not know his strength.
Questions: Can he play consistant night after night?
Place he should go: The New Orelans Hornets. The Hornets will be where he wants to go.
Why: New Orelans needs a big man. Monroe can give you a spark. He wants to go there so he can be with his family.
Why did he leave: So he can get money for his family. Otherwise there is no good reason.

Playoffs

In the NBA Playoffs I have the Cavs beating the Bulls 4-2 in the series. The Lakers will fall to the Thunder 4-3. The Magic will beat the Bobcats 4-1. Sorry MJ. The Spurs will beat the Mavericks 4-2. The Spurs have a bigger bench. The Hawk will barely beat the Bucks. It will be a 4-3 win. The Blazers will be epic versus the Suns and will be too much. The Heat will beat the Celtics 4-1 in their series. The Nuggets will beat the Jazz 4-3. The play makers will be Kevin Durant, Dwayne Wade, J.R. Smith, Joe Johnson, and Brandon Roy. In the Championship the Thunder and the Heat will face-off. That is all I am going to say.

Tuesday, April 6, 2010

Blue Devils

Yesterday the Duke Blue Devils won the National Championship! They beat Butler 61-59. Gordon Hayward missed the shot he could have made 9 out of 10 times in the regular season. Lance Thomas had a great hook shot to take the lead. That is number 4 for Coach K. Congratulations to Duke fans all over the world!

Monday, April 5, 2010

Big Deal

Earlier today Donavan McNabb got traded. Not to the Raiders, the Redskins! This will make this rivarly fiercer. Now the NFC East will be even crazier. I can not wait until McNabb goes back to Philly. The Eagles were just foolish there. This has a big impact on the Draft.

Sunday, April 4, 2010

Title

Tomorrow Duke and Butler face off in Indy. Gordon Hayward will be huge. Jon Scheyer will get shut down. I have Butler winning 68-66. Howard will score 20+ points. Butler is not a Cinderella team. They have TALENT! It will be a great ending to a great Tournament. Remember Georgetown beat Butler and Duke.

Thursday, April 1, 2010

Final Four

For the Final Four this year Butler and Michigan State will face off and West Virginia Duke will battle it out. Darrel Truck Bryant is questionable for the West Virginia Duke game. Last time West Virginia was in the Final Four was 59 years ago with Jerry West. Now West Virginia has Jerry's son on the team. I predict West Virgina will win 64-57. Ebanks will have 25+ points. Butler will have 15 points and Mazzullo will have 18 points and 6 assists. Butler will win 79-78. In the Title West Virginia will beat Butler 72-65. West Virginia will win it all. I probably won't be able to blog for the next week or so because I'll be in Paris.

Saturday, March 27, 2010

Elite 8

Today I have Butler beating Kansas State 86-85 in 2/OT. West Virginia will beat Kentucky 78-72. Huggy Bear and Calipari are the most dreaded coaches. Calipari has put 2 schools on probation. Huggy Bear has never wore a suit. Michigan St. will beat Tennessee 63-58. Baylor will beat Duke 79-65.

Thursday, March 25, 2010

Sweet 16

For tonights matchups I have Washington winning by 2 over the Mountianeers. Pondexter is so unrated. West Virginia has no 3 point shooter without Bryant. Cornell will win by 3. They have the experience. Butler will lose to Syracuse. Ohio State will beat Tennesee. Xavier will outplay Kansas St. Baylor will beat St. Mary's. Purdue will beat the Blue Devils without Hummel. Michigan St. will beat Northern Iowa 73-71.

Wednesday, March 17, 2010

March Madness

For March Madness I have Vermont beating Syracuse and making it to the Elite Eight. I t might sound crazy but if Marcus Blakely gets hot he is good and if they beat 'Cuse it is an easy way to the Elite Eight. San Diego State will beat Tennessee. West Virginia, Kansas, Kentucky, Georgetown, and Villanova will make it into the 2nd round easily. I have Vermont, Pittsburgh, Kansas, Georgetown, Baylor, Siena, West Virginia, and Kentucky in the Elite Eight. Georgetown, Pittsburgh, Baylor, and West Virginia will make it to the Final Four. Georgetown will beat Baylor in the National Championship. Notable games are Louisville Cal, Washington Marquette, and North Texas Kansas St. Kansas St. would win by 2, Louisville would dominate 73-57, and Washington will beat Marquette 64-61. Jason Clark will be the Player of the game in the Finals. Some good players to watch for are Chris Wright, Quinncy Pondexter, Da'Sean Butler, Pat Patterson.

Buckeye Buzzer Beater

Earlier today Ohio State and Michigan faced off. Manny Harris with 2.2 seconds left nailed a jumper. Then, Evan Turner got the ball and nobody was on him. So, he chucks up a 37 footer and it goes in! Ohio State is battling for a #1. seed. Evan Turner won Player of the Year. Tonight Georgetown will beat Marquette in a close one. John Thompson will get a great birthday gift. West Virginia will also beat Notre Dame. Maryland will beat Georgia Tech, and the score will be 73-68. There have been 2 buzzer beaters this tournament season. Evan Turner and De'Sean Butler made them.

Hoyasaxa

Earlier today Georgetown beat Syracuse. No team has ever won the National Title after losing the 1st game in their conference tournament. They will play Marquette.Tonight I have Cincinnati over West Virginia and Pittsburgh over Notre Dame. Tommorow Georgetown will beat Marquette and the other game is to be announced. So far 5-2 with my Big East picks. Georgia Tech will beat North Carolina and Clemson will beat NC State.

MSG Madness

Tonight I have Cincinnati beating Louisville 73-72. I like Louisville but there is something about Cincinnati. I love Lance Stevenson. Earlier today Georgetown beat South Florida 69-49. Marquette got a scare from St. John's. They won 57-55 though. Notre Dame beat Seton Hall. Notre Dame increased their chances of making it to the tournament. If you ask me they should. MSG has had some good and bad games this year.

Big East Tournament

In the Big East Tournament I have Cincinatti beating Rutgers 63-57. Seton Hall will beat the Providence Flyers 78-72. Tommorow Georgetown will beat South Florida and play Syracuse. St. John's will beat Marquette in a very close game. The score will be 71-70. I end up having Pittsburgh, Georgetown, Villanova, and Louisville. I have Georgetown and Pittsburgh facing each other. The Hoyas want revenge and will get it. They will beat Pitt 75-67.

Saturday Slate

Tomorrow I have some buisness to do. I am picking Louisville to beat Syracuse 71-64. It is the last game ever at Freedom Hall. Their has been 6 National Titles played there. Samuels will be huge. UNC will beat Duke 81-79 in OT. They want to end the regular season big. Villanova will beat West Virginia. Georgetown will beat Cincinatti 62-57. I will be at that game. Lance Stevenson will score 20+ points. Austin Freeman has just been diagnosed with diabetes. My bracket busters are Marquette and Washington.

#1 Seeds

Tonight there are some big battles. There could be a #1 seed giving out. Kansas State goes into Jayhawk territory. Duke plays Maryland. If you ask me, Duke is overrated. I mean the ACC this year has been horrible. Maryland will beat Duke 74-64. Kansas State will prove that they are #1 seed material. They will beat Kansas 72-69. They are seeking revenge. I still think Kansas is the best team in the nation. My 4 number #1 are Kansas, Kentucky, Syracuse, and ... Kansas State.

Gold

Today Canada faces the U.S. in hockey. Winner gets the gold. The U.S. is at home even though it is in Canada. Martin Brodeur got switched after giving up 5 goals to the U.S. in the early rounds. I have the U.S. winning 3-1. Ryan Miller will be the key player. Rafalski and Parise will play well. Crosby will not get it done. The U.S. will win gold, Canada will win the silver, and Finland won bronze versus Slovakia. It won't be a Miracle on Ice but it will be amazing.

Saturday, February 27, 2010

Tonight I have Georgetown beating Notre Dame. Cincinatti will upset West Virginia. BYU will beat New Mexico. For the big game I have the Villanova Wildcats beating the Sracuse Orange Men 69-67. Happy anniversary to Patrick Ewing when Georgetown number 2 beat St. John's in the sweater game.

Friday, February 26, 2010

Semifinals

Earlier today, the U.S. beat Finland 6-1 in the semifinals of hockey. Now, tonight Slovakia & Canada face off. I have Slovakia winning 4-3 in a shootout. Sydney Crosby won't be affective. Martin Brodeur will not come through for Canada. Slovakia is the underdog but they can do it. Winner will face the U.S. The loser will play Finland in the Bronze medal game. Canada, do you think you over celebrated with bringing alchol and cigars on to the ice after winning Gold?

Monday, February 22, 2010

Happy Anniversary

Happy anniversary to the U.S. hockey team. This day 30 years ago they beat Soviet Union in the Semifinals. It is known as the Miracle on Ice. Yesterday the U.S. beat Canada 5-3. Canada was the gold medal favorite. The U.S. will have a bye with Russia while Canada has to play Germany. Ryan Miller was key last night. Rafalski had 2 goals. Sidney Crosby had a goal for Canada. Martin Brodeur let up 5 goals. That is so not him. Well happy anniversary U.S.

Problems?

This year people have been questioning the judging at the Olympics. There was the one when Guilboat Colas should have at least got a medal but instead he came in sixth. They ended up giving the gold to the Canadian named Alexandre Bilodeau. It could have gone either way but they should have gave Guilboat a better grade. Then last night people thought Shiancoe should have got gold but Lyesacek got it. Lyesacek got what he deserved.
Some analysts have been discussing about the difference between Figure Skating and Ice Dancing. If you ask me there is no difference. Figure skating is more talked about. I think they should just combine the two sports. I mean they're both moving gracefully on ice. There will be more discussions on the topic.

Monday, February 15, 2010

The Olympics have been going on for about 3 days. On Friday the ceremony started it off. Wayne Gretzki and Steve Nash were torch bearers. On Saturday Hannah Kearney stunned Canada. They have never won a Gold on home soil. Jenn Heil was about to win but the girl from Vermont came in and swooped it away from her. The U.S. got a Gold and a Bronze. Sunday the U.S. got their 1st ever medal in the Nordic Combine. Later that night Canada got a Gold. Alexandre Bilodeau got lucky at the end. The judges gave Guilboat Colas a really bad ranking. He should have got a medal instead he got 6th. China's Shen/Zhau won their first ever Gold. They would not retire until they won Gold.

Olympic Games

The Winter Olympics are starting this Friday! The ceremony will be this Friday and on Saturday the action starts. Bad news for the U.S., Lindsey Vonn who was expected to win a Gold injured her shin. She will be limited. Luckily she'll still race. Bobby Brown will win a Gold for the U.S. Of course Shaun White will do some damage. He is just so beast on the half-pipe. I predict Russia will get Gold in hockey. They are too powerful with Alexander Ovechkin and Evgeni Malkin. The U.S. will get Silver with Tim Thomas at Goalie, Paul Statsny, Scott Gomez, and Ryan Suter. Ryan Miller is the back-up goalie. They added a new sport to the Winter Olympics. It is called Ski Cross. Andy Newell will win a medal in Cross Country Skiing. Bode Miller will do well with the Alpine Skiing. Apolo Ohno will win a medal in Short Track Speed Skating. Christain Niccum and Dan Joye will get the Gold in Luge. Shauna Rohbock will get a Bronze medal in Bobsled. I will be looking forward to watching it.

The Offseason

We will have to wait until next fall to watch football. But that does not mean we are not going to talk about it. Every week I am going to have a new question. So here it goes... Which is the best football stadium to see a game? Vote now. Remember you can email me to vote at Mattymac8@gmail.com. VOTE NOW!

Who Dat?

The Saints went marching into Miami and beat the Colts 31-17! Brees was named MVP. Brees said his kid is his inspiration. Peyton Manning threw a crucial interception. Tracy Porter ran it back for a Touchdown. There were 63 completions. Garret Hartley made 3 Field Goals. He is the first kicker in Super Bowl history to nail 3 kicks longer then 40 yards. Pierre Thomas had a TD. The onside kick at the beginning of the 2nd half was huge. Jeremy Shockey got his 2nd ring. The first ring he earned he got today. Lance Moore had a big 2 point conversion. I know you are happy Greg Monroe. Who gonna beat dem' Saints?

Saturday, February 6, 2010

The Pick

My pick for the Super Bowl is the... Saints! I have them winning 30-27. Brees is too explosive. Marcous Colston will be huge. Darren Sharper will have to play well. Dwight Freeney is questionable. It is so hard to pick against Peyton Manning but I am going to. T-Mac is going with the Colts 38-24. Happy Birthday Nicholas Dellamura. I know you don't like my pick.

13 Year Old QB?

A 13 year old kid named David Sills Verbally Committed to USC! He has his own teacher. The teacher said "This kid is insane." USC has a bunch of Quarterbacks. I mean you have Matt Barkley, Mitch Mustang, Kyle Prater, and David Sills. This kid is only in 7th grade. I love it. Some people think it's insane but I love it.

SB 44

The Super Bowl is this Sunday. The Colts and the Saints faceoff as you all know. Colt Defensive End Dwight Freeney is suffering a torn ligament in his right ankle. He did not play at practice today. He is questionable. Melvin Bullet will have to play well. Darren Sharper must shut down the Colt receivers. My playmakers are Marcous Colston, Devery Henderson, Gary Brackett, Reggie Wayne, and Pierre Thomas. [I did not put the Quarterbacks in] Johnathan Vilma will have to stir up pressure on Peyton Mannning. I am going to do my pick tommorow at 9:45 A.M. Make sure you tune back in.

Tuesday, February 2, 2010

Right Now

Dwight Freeney has been suffering an ankle injury. He tripped over Mark Sanchez in the AFC Championship. He said if I can't run I can't play. He is questionable for the Super Bowl. Mark Sanchez is having knee surgery later this month. It is from when he slid against the Bills back in early December.

Saturday's Games

Today I have Georgetown beating Duke in a thriller. I predict it will be 69-68. Kentucky will not bounce back after their 1st loss. Then for the big game. I have Kansas beating Kansas State. My X-Factors are Sheron Collins of Kansas, Derrick Favors of Georgia Tech, Lance Stevenson of Cincinatti, and Greg Monroe of Georgetown. Digger Phelps please hop on the Georgetown train again!

Warner Retires

Kurt Warner announced his retirement today. He will now spend time with his family. 2 of his favorite moments were back in "99" when he won the Super Bowl. He loved when he took the Cardinals to a Super Bowl. He said the hardest hit he has ever taken is the one 2 weeks ago. It still is hurting him. He has been on the Rams***, Giants and Cardinals. [ *** means he won a Super Bowl.] We will miss you Warner!

Pro Bowl Problems

The Pro Bowl is days away. There has been some problems though. This year it is not in Hawai it is in Miami. The Colts and Saints Pro Bowlers can't go because it is before the Super Bowl and they don't want to get injured. Players want it back in Hawai. I think the NFC will win this year. I think their Defense will win it for them. If you ask me it does not even matter.

1. No More

Kentucky just got #1. Monday. They could not hold it though. They lost to South Carolina who just came off a heartbreaking loss to Florida. You think John Wall will win SEC Player of the Year easily? Think again! South Carolina has a beast Point Guard named Devin Downey. Wall is amazing but he should watch out. So #1. Kentucky loses to the Gamecocks 68-62.

Happy Anniversery!

Happy anniversery Kobe Bryant. On this day he scored 81 points versus the Raptors. His last time he went to Madison Square Garden was February 2, 2009. He scored 61 points. He hopes to have another big game.

Wednesday, January 20, 2010

Who Will Win?

This weekend I think the Saints will beat the Vikings 24-23. Drew Brees will lead the Saints to the Super Bowl. Darren Sharper will have a good game. Favre will have 2TD and 1INT. Peyton Manning will pick apart the Jets defense. Reggie Wayne will have 100 + yards and 1 TD. You can vote who will win this weekend. Vote now!

Monday, January 18, 2010

Big Monday

Tonight there is a big game. Number 1 Texas faces #12 Kansas State. I have Kansas State beating Texas. Denis Clemente is an amazing player. He is a great passer and shooter. Dexter Pittman is a great Center but he won't get it done tonight. Go to Youtube to see an awesome shot by Denis Clemente. Just type in "Denis Clemente Shot".

Saturday, January 16, 2010

Divisional

This week I will rebound from last week. I have the Ravens going into Indy and winning 23-17. Ray Rice will have a good day. The Saints will come out on fire and beat the Cards 30-20. The Chargers will roll over the Jets 31-17. Bye-bye Rex Ryan. The Cowboys will lose to the Vikings 21-20. Please text "Haiti" at 90999 and donate just 10$ to the hurricane in Haiti.

Friday, January 15, 2010

Arenas

Today Gilbert Arenas plead that he had a gun that was not licensed. It all started with a card game. Gilbert said to teammate Javaris Crittenton " I am to old to take you in a fist fight but I can shoot you in the face with a gun." Arenas' attorney had something to say. Arenas took this as a joke first pretending to shoot his teammates. Arenas is a loose player but today he had his hands by his side and looked very stiff. He will face a jail sentence for 6 months starting March 26th.

Kiffin

Lane Kiffin is the new USC head coach! He used to work at SC from 2001-1006. He brought Monte Kiffin with him. USC needs to get more recruiting and they are an elite team. Tony Dungy, Jack Del Rio, and Jeff Fisher were in the hunt but instead they got Kiffin. USC now needs to replace Mcknight and Williams. Ronald Johnson will replace Williams and C.J Gable will replace McKnight hopefully they they will play next year.

Best And Worse

The NFL season has been good. Here are the best and worst plays and players of the year. Chris Johnson would have to be in there with over 2,000 rush yards. Peyton Manning was the MVP and led the Colts to a 14-2 regular season. Drew Brees had a great season leading the Saints. Darelle Revis was shutting down receivers. Charles Woodson had 9 INT and had a great season. Tony Romo had a good season with Miles Austin. Phillip Rivers had a great season. Congrats to the Texans for having their best season.
The Rams had a bad season as usual. Jamarcus Russel had a bad season that he'll want to forget. He had 1 good game. The Bucs did not go any where. That is kind of how the season went.

Saturday, January 9, 2010

Right Now

What is going on right now? I will tell you right now. Pete Carroll might go to the Seahawks after Jim Mora was fired. I am not totally on board though. The only thing Carroll has said is " You know I have not talked about the NFL in 2 years." Even though I am not totally on board I think he is leaving. The Georgetown Hoyas rallied back from a 19 point deficit to beat UCONN. Austin Freeman had 28 points in the 2nd half! UCONN lost 72-69. The Jets and the Bengals face-off tonight. The Cowboys are gonna try to sweep the Eagles.

Friday, January 8, 2010

Playoffs

The Playoffs are here. In the Eagles Cowboys game the Cowboys will not sweep the Eagles and the Eagles will win 23-21. The Bengals will beat the Jets 16-13. The Ravens will lose to the Patriots 27-22. I can't beleive I am saying that though. The Packers will win 24-13 versus the Cardinals. My playmakers of the Playoffs are Desean Jackson, Charles Woodson, Phillip Rivers, and Cedric Benson. My 2 Super Bowl teams are the... Packers and Chargers! Have a very happy Wild Card Weekend.

Wednesday, January 6, 2010

Pasadena

Alabama and Texas face off tommorow for the title game. Remember the last Heisman winner to play Texas in the title game has lost. That was Reggie Bush. The Heisman winner has not won the title game in a few years. Ingram will try to end that streak. I think he will. Mcelroy is play great. Javier Arenas is having a good season. The one question is will Rolando Mclain play. He is fighting the Stomach Bug. He is the best LB in the nation if you ask me. McCoy will lose the QB duel. Saban versus Brown Thursday Night. McCoy versus Ingram. It all comes down to this. [ Brent Musburger voice]

Recruiting Season

The College football recruiting season is on. Today there was the Under Armor High School Football Game. Florida has the best recruiting class so far. Tebow brung Florida's recruiting class up so much. USC has not had great recruits so far. They have a QB named Kenny Scroggins. Nick Montana [ Joe Montana's son] went to Washington. Nick was on a team with Will Smith's son and Wayne Gretsky's son. Washington and USC don't need a Quarterback. USC has Matt Barkley and Washington has Jake Locker. Florida State got Kenny Shaw

Chapter 3. NBA

The NBA has had memorable moments this decade. The 3 best teams were the Lakers, Spurs, and Celtics. The Celtics have 1 Championship beating the Lakers in a close one. Ray Allen was the MVP of the series. The Lakers won 2 Titles. 1 was versus the Magic. Kobe Bryant got his 4th ring. He got his 1st without Shaq. The Spurs won 2 Titles and went to 3 Title games. 2 of the best coaches are Doc Rivers and Phil Jackson. The best players would have to be Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Shaquille O'Neal, Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Allen Iverson, and one of my favorite players Dwayne Wade.
Some of the best moments were when Iverson nailed a 3 and walked over the defender. Another was when Artest attacked a person in the crowd. Lebron has had moments dunking over people. Dwayne Wade nailed a buzzer beater and did a kick. Kobe has to have a moment. Well he has to much so I will tell you what he does regularly. He nails buzzer beaters now and then. A great moment was when everybody thought the Cavs lost but Lebron nailed a game winning 3 pointer versus the Magic.

Chapter 2. CF

College Football has had a great decade. The best teams would be USC, Texas, Florida, and LSU. USC has won 2 Titles, 8 Pac Ten Titles, and 3 Title game appearances. They also have won 5 straight bowl games. Pete Carrol has done a great job as Head Coach. They have also had 2 Heisman winners this decade. Texas has had 1 Title, 4 Big 12 Titles, and they are heading to the Title game this year. Florida has won 2 Titles, 2 SEC Titles, and 3 appearances. LSU has 1 Title and has had 1 SEC Title.
The best games were probably December 4, 2006 when West Virginia beat Rutgers in 5th OT. The best one was Boise State beating Oklahoma in 4th OT. They won the game off of a trick play called the Statue of Liberty. After, the player proposed to his girlfriend. That was in the 2007 Fiesto Bowl. The best players were Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart, Vince Young, Tim Tebow, and the best defensive player Ndamokung Suh.
