Streak Snapped
What a run! That is all I have to say. Earlier today, UCONN lost to Stanford to end their 90 game win streak. In the process, Stanford extended a 51 home game win streak to 52 games. The final score was 71-59. Before the loss tonight, the last team to beat UCONN was Stanford. Geno Auriemma stated last Spring that if their streak went all the way into January he would retire. There are still questions to be answered. How far will UCONN drop in the polls? Will Geno Auriemma retire? Compare it to any other streak. Favre got injured in half of those 297 games. The only thing that comes close to this streak is the UCLA Men's Basketball streak. This night will go down in history.

Weekend Encore
This weekend all started out when Hawaii got embarrassed in their own stadium by Toledo. On Saturday, the Bulls and Knicks collided at the Garden. A'mare and the Knicks got the win in the end. The Magic and Celtics went down to the wire, but in the end the Magic got a huge boost of confidence. The Heat had to make a statement to show that they can play with the big boys. They did that this weekend as they out hustled the Lakers. In the next game, Kevin Durant greeted the Nuggets by dropping 44. To finish off the day the Warriors defeated the Trail Blazers. On Sunday, the Lions got their 5th win of the season. The Patriots clinched home-field advantage. The Packers demolished the Giants in Green Bay to take control of the NFC Wild Card. The Eagles and Vikings had to postpone their Sunday Night game to Tuesday. Tonight I like the Falcons to beat the defending champs at the Georgia Dome. That is all for this great weekend in sports.

Best Gift of All
Tonight, some teams will have a very nice Christmas, while others will get a big lump of coal. To start out the day, the Bulls face-off with the Knicks. Carlos Boozer will be phenomenal as he will lead the Bulls to a victory. The Celtics will get their 15th straight win as they will beat the Magic handily. The Heat and the Lakers go at it today. I like the experienced Lakers to take it in a close one. The Thunder will take care of business versus the Nuggets with Carmelo out. To wrap up the day, the Warriors will take care of the Trail Blazers.

Right Now
There is a lot going on in the sports world, but especially in College Football. Earlier today, the NCAA announced that Terrell Pryor and four other Ohio State Buckeyes are suspended for the first five games of next season. Terrell Pryor is guilty of selling some of his awards like the 2009 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl Sportsmanship Award. Also, in the College Football world the Pointsetta Bowl is going to be played at Qualcomm Stadium after the severe floods in Southern California. Navy will take on San Diego State tonight.

Tis' The Season
There are a lot of teams this weekend who can clinch playoff spots. The Jets will lose for the 3rd straight time as they face off at Heinz Field with the Steelers. The Ravens defense will shut down the Saints offense. Chris Ivory is injured for the Saints. The Giants will control the NFC East at the end of the day. They will try to pick on Assante Samuel with Hakeem Nicks. The Jaguars will clinch the AFC South as they head up to Indy. Maurice Jones-Drew will run all over the Colts defense. A lot of questions will be answered today.

Bowl Season
There are 4 more days until College Football Bowl Season begins. It starts out when BYU faces-off with UTEP in the New Mexico Bowl. Right now I am going to give you all the overrated and underrated games this bowl season. An underrated game is when South Carolina and Florida State go at it. The key for South Carolina is that it is at the Georgia Dome, where they just played. Another not talked about game is the AdvoCare 1000 Independence Bowl with Air Force and Georgia Tech. A game that catches my eye is when Russell Wilson and North Carolina State face the West Virginia Mountaineers in the Champs Sports Bowl. These overrated games might surprise you. In the Valero Alamo Bowl Oklahoma State plays Arizona. Kendall Hunter will run over Arizona's defense. Nebraska squares off with Washington in the Holiday Bowl for the second time this year. Washington will not be able to stop Taylor Martinez. The Outback Bowl is a battle of Big Ten and SEC powerhouses who had disappointing years. Penn State will make a statement against Florida. With all the distractions with Urban Meyer, Florida will not be playing their best. Toon in tomorrow for the picks of the 2010-2011 College Football Bowl Season!

CFL Now
The College Football world has been busy this weekend. On Saturday, Cam Newton won the 76th Heisman Trophy. Luck was the runner-up and LaMichael James was 3rd. Will Muschamp was named Florida's head coach. He had a very successful career as the Texas defensive coordinator. Al Golden, former Temple head coach, agreed to a deal with Miami. There are still some other coaching jobs out there. Pittsburgh needs a coach after Dave Wanstead resigned.

Let it Snow!
After some very severe blizzards, the Giants were stuck in Kansas City for a night. They postponed the Vikings-Giants game to Monday at 7:20 P.M. at Ford Field in Detroit. The Vikings roof to their Metrodome collapsed last night. Favre announced that if the game was today that he would not have played. I doubt that he will continue his 297 consecutive game streak. The Giants will have a short week to prepare for the Eagles in their biggest game of their season.

Spark of Life
Four teams in the NBA are on winning streaks of five or more games. Those teams are the Mavs, Celtics, Heat, and surprisingly enough, the New York Knickerbockers! Stoudemire has averaged 34.2 points in the last four games. The Mavs look to win their 11th straight. The Celtics go at it with the 76ers tonight. The game that catches my eye is when the Knicks and Celtics face-off. The Heat have won five in a row. This could be the spark that brings the Heat to life. I believe that all of these teams will end up in the Playoffs. Let's see who can extend their streaks.

Breaking News
Earlier today, Urban Meyer resigned as Florida head coach. His final game will be versus Penn State in the Outback Bowl. He has produced so many NFL players. The reason was because he wanted to spend more time with his family. His health is another concern. Dan Mullen and Charlie Strong are in the running for the job.

Weekend Encore
This weekend was thrilling. There were many conference championships. Auburn steam rolled South Carolina 56-17. Oregon overcame Oregon State in Corvallis. All of the 3-8 teams did not have a game. Oklahoma outlasted Nebraska in a battle. Virginia Tech beat Florida State in a shootout 44-33. UCONN clinched the Big East in the last couple of seconds. On Sunday the Bowls were announced. Auburn and Oregon will clash in the title.
A couple of elite College Basketball teams were on display. Duke and Butler faced off at the Meadowlands. Duke took it in the end. Kentucky went on the road to North Carolina but fell short in the end. Georgetown took care of business at home when an underrated Utah State team came to the Verizon Center.
The Steelers came out of Baltimore with a win and Roethlisberger's bloody nose. The Colts continue to struggle. The Bucs and their Creamsicles fell short versus Atlanta. It all leads up to tonight when Brady and Sanchez collide on Monday Night Football.

World Cup
Today, the World Cup picked the hosts for the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cup. For the 2018 WC Russia won in the voting. Japan and Netherlands were in the mix for that. The country that won the 2022 voting was Quatar! The U.S. lost in the finals to Quatar. The final voting was 14-8. It looks like the U.S. won't be hosting a World Cup in a long time.
