NBA Update

There is some very serious news involving Derrick Rose. In today's game against the 76ers, he tore his ACL. He will miss the rest of the Playoffs. The Heat are now the obvious front-runners in the Eastern Conference. I have to say, the Heat looked so good today in their 100-67 win over the Knicks. In tonight's games, I like the Pacers to win handily over the Magic. To cap off the night, I am going with the Thunder to beat the Mavericks. I think Serge Ibaka will be the key for Oklahoma City. Tomorrow has some interesting matchups. I like the Hawks to surprise the Celtics tomorrow at home. Atlanta is sliding under the radar. The Lakers will go at it with the Nuggets at the Staples Center. I think George Karl's team will get the upset in dramatic fashion. The Spurs and Jazz will also battle it out tomorrow. This should be an interesting game. In the end, I like the Spurs and their experience. This last game is the series I am excited for the most. The Grizzlies and Clippers match up well with each other. This should be a thriller. However, I think Rudy Gay will lead his Memphis team to victory. We are only seven hours into the Playoffs and it is already this exciting.

Game 7 at the Garden

The New York Rangers and the Ottawa Senators will go at it for a chance to move on to the next round tonight at Madison Square Garden. This series has been extremely fun to watch. There has been some very good goalie play. Craig Anderson has been huge for Ottawa this whole series. Brian Boyle is not expected to play tonight after he took an ugly hit. He has not played in the last two games. This will be Chris Kreider's fifth ever NHL game. He came up big on Monday's game with a Power Play goal. Derek Stepan also had a monster game on Monday with a goal and two assists. This should be a great game tonight, but I have to go with the Rangers in the Garden. The "World's Most Famous Arena" will be going crazy tonight.

Mock Draft

The NFL Draft is tomorrow night. There is plenty of talent this year. Andrew Luck is all set for the Colts. Robert Griffin III will be a Redskin. The Vikings are in a tough spot with the #3 spot. I think they should get Matt Kalil instead of Morris Claiborne. I think they can get a quality cornerback in the 2nd Round. Here is how I think picks 3-10 will go:
3. Vikings- Matt Kalil USC
4. Browns- Trent Richardson Alabama
5. Buccaneers- Morris Claiborne LSU
6. Rams- Justin Blackmon Oklahoma State
7. Jaguars- Melvin Ingram South Carolina
8. Dolphins- Ryan Tannehill Texas A&M
9. Panthers- Dontari Poe Memphis
10. Bills- Michael Floyd Notre Dame

NHL Playoffs

The race for the Stanley Cup is in full swing. The first couple games of the Stanley Cup Playoffs have been very exciting. There are a couple of big shockers in this first round. The Flyers are up on the Penguins 3-0 in the series. The goalie play from the Pens has been horrific. This has been a very physical series with lots of fights and ejections. In the Western Conference, things have been very crazy. The Canucks are down 2-0 to the LA Kings. The Canucks came into the Playoffs with the best record in the league. They are really missing the play of Daniel Sedin. The Nashville Predators are up on the Red Wings 2-1. they got their first ever Playoff win at the Red Wings' Joe Louis Arena. The Rangers are in a battle with the Ottawa Senators. The series is tied at one apiece. The Capitals and Bruins have gone to Overtime twice. The series is also tied 1-1. The Devils are ahead in their series against the Panthers 1-0. The most interesting series, to me, has been the Coyotes/Blackhawks series. Chicago has had a goal in the last 15 seconds to send it to OT in both games. The Coyotes pulled out a victory in Game 1, but Chicago came out on top in the second meeting. Hopefully, the next few rounds will be as exciting as the last couple days.

Pursuit for Gr8ness

The Kentucky Wildcats won their 8th National championship last night in a win against Kansas. They controlled the game from start to finish. Even when Kansas looked like they had a run in them, Calipari's team silenced them. Anthony Davis won Most Outstanding Player with only five points. He had several rebounds and blocks. I don't mean to take anything away from Kentucky, but Kansas just kept shooting themselves in the foot. They had a bunch of missed dunks and free throws. Not to mention, they had a few costly turnovers. Kentucky was just the better team on the floor. There was no doubt about that. This was John Calipari's first Championship. He could be the best recruiter there has ever been. Year after year, he gets a five-star recruiting class. He has brought Kentucky back up to the top. Lexington has been party central for the last few hours.

Battle in the Big Easy

Tonight, two of the most storied college basketball programs in Kansas and Kentucky will battle it out for the National Championship in New Orleans. Kentucky came into the tournament as the #1 seed. They made their way here through the South Region. They knocked off Louisville to solidify their spot in tonight's game. Kansas is coming from the Midwest Region. They were the #2 seed and had to get by Detroit, Purdue, NC State, and North Carolina to make it to the Final Four. They escaped past Ohio State on Saturday to get to tonight. This will be a very exciting matchup. These two teams met earlier this year at the Garden. Kentucky won that fight. Kentucky is the more athletic team; however, I think Bill Self will outcoach John Calipari. This will be a very fun matchup to watch, but I think Thomas Robinson will win MVP and will lead his Kansas Jayhawks to a national championship. His mother will be looking down on him tonight as the Kansas Jayhawks will be rocking New Orleans.
